Discovering and photographing the unknown beauty of Europe
It’s that day of the year again: Valentine’s Day. That day when we pamper our beloved. That day when we do something extra special for him or her. That day when we express our love to him or her. But for me that one day is not enough. No, it isn’t.
I need to express and show my love to Lars every day, not just one day every year. Because he deserves it. And that’s exactly what I do. I tell him that I love him when he takes me to my work and when he takes me back home. Between classes I will send him a message that I love him. During my lunch break I will send him an email asking him if he is okay and telling him how much I miss him. When we go for a walk we’ll hold hands. And I am not ashamed to give him a kiss or a hug in public. And often I will give him a small gift or cook something special for him.
Another thing I like to tell him is how happy he makes me. Lars has changed my life in a very positive way. When I met him online 4 years ago, I was in a very bad state and thanks to him I feel a lot better. So at least once a day I tell him that he makes me happy. He doesn’t need to do big things to make me happy; just being there is enough.
And last but not least I am very grateful. I am grateful that he left his country for me. That he came to Brussels to live with me, to share his life with me. And I am so grateful for all the trips and excursions that we have made together. Until now we have been in 20 countries together and I am so grateful for all these special places and events that I have seen: the Potemkin stairs in Odessa, a very special spa in Hungary, the Wild Horses of Langeland to name just a few.
Here’s to you, Lars! I love you!
