After our exhausting visit to the Golden Courtyard Museums, it was time to eat. Until now Lars and I had done some self-catering, but now we were in the mood to go to a restaurant. We chose “La Lune” (The Moon), which is situated at 1 place de la Cathédrale in Metz:
When you enter the establishment, you are actually in the bar, but when you go to the left, you find yourself in their small restaurant. We were the first ones to arrive, so we chose a table in a quiet corner. There is no menu; all they offer is written on small blackboards on the walls. The choice is limited, but all the produce is fresh. Apparently they buy all their ingredients at the local market. One warning: drinks are not mentioned, so it’s better to ask the prices before you order.
I had an excellent rabbit with mustard sauce, whereas Lars went for a succulent piece of chicken. We liked the restaurant so much, that we also ordered dessert (which we rarely do).
There is a very lively atmosphere in this place and the waiters are swift and polite. In short, great food for a great price!
