If you are a regular visitor of this blog, you may have noticed that we have changed its design. And maybe you have a couple of questions.
Why?
I wanted to have a design where you could have a clear overview of my blog posts. And I wanted to get rid of some of the clutter.
What has happened with the search bar, calendar, Pinterest button and so on?
They are still there, at the bottom of the homepage and every blog post. Just scroll down!
Where are the bucket lists?
Gone. Yes, gone. We still have our travel dreams, of course. But I felt that a bucket list didn’t motivate us. At the contrary: it had become a kind of to-do list. And since we plan less and improvise more, the list had become a kind of obligation. Like: we have to go there or we have to do this, because it’s on our bucket list.
What happened with the blog roll?
It’s no longer on the homepage, but it’s still there at every blog post.
And the awards?
We do appreciate your awards! But I simply didn’t have any space left for all the icons… Moreover, telling more details about my life and nominating other bloggers, had become a bit … tiresome. Fron now on, we will kindly accept every award and put you on the blog roll. And if you want to know more about me, read my writer’s blog
We are actually very happy with this new design! The only thing we miss is the big header image… What do you think? Do you like it (or not)? Any suggestions?
Love it!!
Thanks!
Nice design. I often think of changing the layout of my blog but I think it will mess up everything and never dare
It does take an effort, but it really is worth it!
Me too! Crisp and clean
Thanks, Madhu!
Like it
Thank you
I noticed the change in design a while ago and I had meant to comment. I really like it. It’s much “cleaner”. I’m starting to think about a change to mine as well as I’d like a proper homepage.
Thanks, Edith!
very nice!
Looks like everybody thinks the same
I love the new layout. Very clean
Thanks, Amberr
The “awards” were basically nonsense anyway! — YUR
I think it’s a nice sign of appreciation
I looked at a number of them and they were all the equivalence of a vanity press book. The intent might be “nice”, but essentially just glorified “Attaboys!”
