Our Adaptable Adventure – Staying with The Viking’s mother

Remember this movie?

Meeting your mother-in-law is always a bit daunting. Especially when your loved one has a good relationship with his (or her) mother. And The Viking happens to be very fond of his mother!

So naturally, I was a bit nervous when I first met her. I soon discovered that I didn’t need to worry. My mother-in-law and I share the same interests and have the same sense of humor. We have come to the point that she calls me “my dearest”. It is an incredible feeling to have two mothers!

The Viking and I feel at home in her cosy apartment with her books. Actually, the three of us feel well and relaxed with each other. We used to be four though. We were all so fond of Lulu, her small dog, who sadly passed away in the beginning of this year. And did I mention that my mother-in-law is a good cook?

We were happy that we could stay here for 2 weeks during our summer trip. We are very grateful for the hospitality, the good company and the yummy food! But it was time to go… Time to continue with the rest of our trip.

I made a selection of pictures of different moments we all shared together!

You are fortunate to have such a good relationship with your Mother in law. To sum up mine, she refused to watch our son, her grandson, when he was an infant. She said if a burglar came to her house the night she was watching him she would not be able to crawl out the window!
