One of the main attractions in Nyborg is Nyborg Slot. Every time we stay with The Viking’s mother, we decide to visit it, but somehow we never succeed in doing so. And unfortunately, this summer trip was no exception either. But we did visit another one: Holckenhavn Castle.
This castle lies in the outskirts of Nyborg. The name Holck refers to the family who have been living there since the 2nd half of the 17th century. The castle itself, which is built in Renaissance style, dates from the 16th century.
Unfortunately, Holckenhavn Castle is still a private residence and part of it is used for conferences and private dinner parties. Visitors can only have a look at the park and the exterior of the building. And so we did.
