Every year, Brusselicious organizes a series of exceptional events focusing on food. The choice is enormous, even overwhelming: picnics in parks, luxury dinner in a tram, exhibitions, movies about food and so on. We chose BXXL, 35 giant sculptures in Brussels. About food, of course. The ideal combination of food and art!
Earlier this year, the sculptures were displayed all over the region of Brussels, but since last Sunday, you can see all of them in the Royal Park. We had a first look already on Sunday. The sculptures are about 5 meters high and represent food that is typically Belgian, such as chocolate and beer. Various Belgian artists have each given their interpretation of this food. You can still see the sculptures in the Royal Park until 23 September.
Today, we kick off our series with a couple of panoramic pictures. The next days, we will show you the artworks that made the biggest impression on the Viking and myself.
Here are the other pictures!
Beautiful. That’s a lot of work and I bet hard to set up for a temporary exhibit.
And it is so beautiful, all these artworks in the park!
What an excellent combination this is! We are checking out the website as I am typing this. Thanks!
You’re welcome!
