Munkebo is one of those towns that The Viking and I had already passed many times without ever visiting it. This time we decided to make time for it.
As you can see on the map, Munkebo is situated in the north of Fyn. It is basically known for its shipyards, which are located at Odense fjord. We visited the other side of town where you have a lovely view on Kertinge Nor. The Danish word “nor” actually means a lake that has a narrow connection with the sea; a “nor” therefore is a lake that contains salty water.
We only visited a small part of this lake, which is surrounded by pubs and small harbors. As you can see on the pictures, the weather wasn’t very good. It had been raining all morning and there were still a lot of clouds when we were there in the afternoon. I still decided to go for color pictures, because I was attracted by the vibrant greens and blues of the landscape.
Here are the other pictures!
Wow – those clouds look like they were added in! TOO perfect! Glad you went for color!
I don’t know enough about photo editing in order to add clouds
The pics are beautiful
If I ever travel to Denmark with my son, we’ll have to visit Munkebo! Because of his inquisitive, non-stop and climbing nature, one of his nick names was Monkey Boy! I still, occasionally, refer to him as The Monk Man!

He recently turned 25.
I’d love to go swimming there. Are there any dangerous water monsters though?
Not that I know of
Whew!
dramatic clouds!
