Since I am still ill and have to rest a lot, our excursions tend to be very short and very close to home, meaning: grocery shopping. But after having spent 3 weeks at home (in Brussels), lying on the sofa, I started to feel bored and even a bit depressed. Of course, I will respect the doctor’s orders, but a short walk or visit to an exhibition for example a couple of times a week is necessary: not only will I feel better, but I have to get back in shape again.
So, we started with a very short walk to a beautiful place, just around the corner. It’s called Place de la Liberté, and it’s a bit of an oasis between the numerous office buildings. There are some very good pubs, which we visit quite regularly; it’s nice to sit on a terrace under one of the trees, enjoying a beer, a snack or a hot meal. If you follow my follow food blog, you will regularly see examples of popular Belgian snacks and dishes:
